 History and the love of Facebook Facebook is a worldwide form of social media. Founded in 2004 by Mark Zuckerberg, Eduardo Saverin, Andrew McCollum, Dustin Oskovitz, and Chris Hughes. It was previously known as “TheFacebook.com” Facebook started on Harvard’s campus and gained 1200 Harvard students after 24 hours of being launched. It now has over 2.7 worldwide users and is continuing to grow. The original idea was for Facebook to be a social-networking tool that would be established on every college campus. This would help college kids get more connections and help them in the future but also throughout their college career. In 2005, there were over 30,000 organizations from colleges to government employees using Facebook. It had become a very big company, but that was just the beginning. In 2006, they added a feature called News Feed which was what lets you post a status and lets your friends and followers see your statuses. From 2006-2007 they gained users by 89% which was huge for

 Instagram, everyone loves it. Instagram is a photo-sharing app that was created in 2010. The co-founders of Instagram sold it to Facebook (FB) in 2012 for one billion dollars It allows individuals the ability to upload photos and videos with tools they can use to edit, add captions, and hashtags. Instagram is a great app because it gives us the ability to share media with friends and family, interact with others by liking and sharing photos. It also gives us the resources to view trending content and meet new people. People like Instagram because it is made to stay connected to others and create new connections. For younger kids, Instagram is one of the resources to stay on trend and become popular in society. People from all walks of life use Instagram and the ability to personalize it within your preference. There are many pros and cons to Instagram. Eight Values of Free Expression: Blog 5

Free Expression   There are eight values of Free Expression, each freedom is unique but also comes together to paint a better picture when it comes to our diversity and what we say and how we express it. Below are the eight freedoms and how I interpret it.   1. Marketplace of Ideas- Suggested by John Milton, believes that the truth will always win against lies. There should not be a license needed to print/publish. 2. Participation in Self-Government- Citizens should be informed about everything that a political candidate has to offer. There should be no restrictions. 3. Stable Change- People should be allowed to speak or "vent" if we want to see less violence. It also helps the government keep an eye on particular groups that are subject to violence or considered dangerous. 4. Individual Self-Fulfillment- Humans can find themselves by having free speech. 5. Check on Governmental Power- The Press is allowed to write about the government abusing their power. Peaceful Protests and Black Lives Matter   Throughout the last few months there have been more than 2,000 protests all around the world trying to bring awareness towards the black community and police brutality.   Following the murder of George Floyd, the Black Lives Matter movement has seen many peaceful protests. The first amendment gives you freedom of speech, and the freedom to assemble. Under the U.S. constitution as long as you have a permit and the protest is peaceful then you can go out in the streets and use two of your freedoms.   The problem that has occurred is that many of these peaceful protests have become violent and have involved looting. This has strike controversy among many people regardless of their party. Whether you believe that the looting was justified or not, or if the peaceful protests were not the same with the violent protests under the first amendment the violent protests are not protected.   I think many people have decided to associate the BLM protests w
